Angola’s ANPG and Woodside team up for offshore exploration

Angola’s National Agency for Oil, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) and Woodside Energy have signed an MoU to co-operate in the assessment of offshore hydrocarbons prospects in Angola, the ANPG announced on Wednesday.

The agreement covers blocks 25, 26 and 43 and establishes an initial study period to identify potential investment opportunities, setting the basis for collaboration on the analysis of geological and geophysical data, including 2D and 3D seismic, well reports and other technical information.

The MoU was signed by ANPG chairperson Paulino Jerónimo and Woodside Energy vice-president of exploration Terry Gebhardt as part of the agency’s efforts to promote investment and exploration and development of oil and gas resources.

ANPG is Angola’s national concessionaire for oil, gas and biofuels, with responsibilities to regulate, supervise and promote petroleum activities. Headquartered in Perth, Woodside Energy is a global energy company with operated and non-operated assets in Australia, the Americas, Africa and the Caribbean.
